Virgin Active Parklands Closure Notification

At Virgin Active, we continuously assess the feasibility and long-term sustainability of our clubs to ensure they align with our evolving vision of wellness and the needs of our members.

Following a comprehensive review, Virgin Active has reached the decision that Parklands is no longer commercially viable to operate in a way that meets the standards of future-fit clubs. While refurbishment was considered, the level of investment required, particularly in the current economic climate, would not deliver a sustainable or long-term solution for our members or the business.

As part of our responsibility to invest meaningfully and sustainably, we have chosen to prioritise developments that deliver greater long-term value and relevance for our members.

While we understand that this decision may be disappointing, it reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, future-focused wellness environments. We will continue to support our members through this transition and ensure access to alternative facilities within our network.

We sincerely appreciate the support of our members and remain committed to delivering exceptional wellness experiences across our clubs.

Parklands Virgin Active will permanently close its doors on  30 June 2026. We understand this may be disappointing, and we’re here to support you in finding the best option that suits your needs.

You have a few options available:

Option 1: Move to Sunningdale

• Keep your current Parklands rate until 31 December 2026
• From 1 January 2027, your membership will move to the Sunningdale rate

If you don’t select an option, your membership will automatically be transferred to Sunningdale after closure.

Option 2: Move to Table View

• Keep your current Parklands rate until 31 December 2026
• From 1 January 2027, your rate will increase by 10%

Option 3: West Coast Membership

• Access to Sunningdale, Table View, and Table Bay
• R900 per month on a 12-month commitment

Option 4: You can transfer to any other club, those clubs rates will become applicable immediately. This offer can be taken up by contacting our contact centre on 0860 200 911

Try out other clubs

From 30 April to 30 June 2026, you’ll have open access to all Virgin Active clubs (excluding Collection and Country Collection clubs), so you can explore and decide what works best for you.

For Premier members

If Parklands is your home club, you also have the option to:

• Downgrade to a club membership or
• Choose to train at a specific club

This can be done free of charge, as long as it’s completed by 30 June 2026.
