At Virgin Active, we continuously review our club portfolio to ensure it supports our long-term vision for modern, high-quality wellness spaces.
After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Parow Virgin Active when its current lease ends on 1 April 2026.
Our latest clubs are designed as modern social wellness destinations, bringing together training, recovery, connection and lifestyle. Unfortunately Parow cannot be transformed to meet those requirements in a sustainable or commercially viable way. The building's infrastructure makes it impossible to create a more premium space to the standards of our newer clubs.
This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly. We know Parow has a loyal member base, and we’re grateful for the many years our members have spent training with us there.
Our main focus now is on ensuring a smooth and supportive transition for all affected members, with several opportunities that provide access to nearby clubs and continued membership value.
We appreciate our members’ understanding and ongoing support as we continue investing in future-fit, world-class social wellness spaces across South Africa.
Parow Virgin Active will close on 1 April 2026, please see the automated process below or select a membership transfer option of your choosing:
OPTION 1
AUTOMATIC TRANSFER TO N1 CITY
-All Parow members will be automatically transferred to N1 City Virgin Active on 1 April 2026
Details:
-You will keep your current Parow rate until 30 September 2026
-From 1 October 2026, your membership will move to the standard N1 City rate
-You will be excluded from the price increase at N1 City in January 2027
OPTION 2
SELECT ANOTHER CLUB
From 1 February to 31 March 2026, Parow members will have, open access to all Virgin Active clubs, (excluding Collection and Country Collection clubs).
Details:
During this time, you are free to try other clubs, see which onr provides a perfect fit and decide where you prefer to train.
Opting for another club:
If you choose a club other than N1 City, that club’s standard rate will apply immediately when you transfer.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR PREMIER MEMBERS
If your home club is Parow and you are a Premier member, you may choose to:
-Downgrade your club membership or train only at N1 City.
- Train only at N1 City
Details:
-If you choose to downgrade, the change will be done free of charge
Downgrades must be completed by 30 April 2026
