AUGUST OFFER CAMPAIGN #1: Join Virgin Active on a 1 or 2 year Club membership between 1 to 31 August 2025 (both dates included), enjoy a discounted joining fee, get the rest of August on us and get a further month’s value on us:
- If you join Virgin Active on a new 1 year or 2 year adult membership (including youth club and youth 14 to 23 year olds) between 1 and 31 August 2025 (both dates included), you pay a discounted joining fee as well as receive the month of August 2025 on us (no pro-rata due for August 2025).
- You could also enjoy a further months value by way of discounted membership fees, as set out below, provided that you meet the following qualifying criteria:
- You sign up for a new 1 year or 2 year adult membership between 1 and 31 August 2025 (both dates included)
- You download the Virgin Active APP by 10 September 2025 and keep this on your device for the next 12 months;
- You train 4 times a calendar month for each of the next 12 consecutive months starting from September 2025 and for each month following this for the initial 12 months of membership, i.e. from September 2025 up to and including August 2026.
- Your Virgin Active membership must be in good standing, i.e. not in arrears at any time in the initial 12 month period.
- Failure to comply to these will mean that the discount on remaining months in the initial 12 months, will fall away immediately and will not be reinstated.
- Qualifying members will receive 100% discount off August’s 2025 membership fees (no pro-rata fees charged in joining month).
In summary: If you join between 1 and 31 August 2025 (both dates included) and pay a discounted joining fee of either R99 at Virgin Active Clubs or R399 at Collection Clubs, you’ll receive the joining month on us (no pro-rata) and you could also get a months’ worth of membership value in discounts over the next 12 months if you meet the qualifying criteria laid out above.
- This offer is not available to members joining Virgin Active via Discovery Vitality or Momentum Multiply programmes as they already receive their relevant programme discounts.
- Discovery Vitality members pay a set R699 Activation Fee upon joining.
- This offer is applicable to Virgin Active workplace wellness corporate partner members, the joining fees of R99 and R399 (Collection) also apply to these members.
- This offer is not applicable to any existing members converting their membership to another product including for example corporate conversions, non-collection club upgrades and downgrades.
- This offer is applicable to joiners at Virgin Active Clubs in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.
- This offer is applicable to new joiners at Collection and RED Clubs as well.
- Members paying their membership fees in full and up front for 12 or 24 months (i.e., not via debit order) will receive an additional one month (1yr product), or two months (2yr product), of membership for free added to the end of their contract period on condition that they have met the qualifying criteria.
OR AUGUST OFFER CAMPAIGN #2: Join Virgin Active on a Premier status membership* between 1 and 31 August 2025 (both dates included), plus get 25% off the next 12 months of membership fees (September 2025 to August 2026):
- If you join Virgin Active on new Premier 1 year or 2 year membership between 1 to 31 August 2025 (both dates included) you will receive 25% discount off on your membership fees from September 2025 to August 2026 provided that:
- Your Virgin Active membership account is in good standing (not in arrears).
- Retail public members pay the discounted joining fee of R99 and get the joining month on us (no pro-rata).
- Discovery Vitality members pay R699 activation fee.
- If you are no longer in good standing, then the 25% discount falls away entirely and you will be liable for the full membership fees going forward.
- * Not applicable to new members joining on Premier Select or Premier Youth products, only applicable to new members joining on Premier one- and two-year memberships.
- No training requirements associated with this offer.
- This 25% discount offer is available to wellness and corporate partner members as well as to Discovery Vitality and Momentum Multiply members.
General clauses applicable to CAMPAIGNS in August 2025, as per the above:
- You cannot get all of these offers, you must choose between one of these campaigns above, ie. Campaign #1 or Campaign #2.
- Pro-rata membership fees will not be payable for August 2025 (i.e. August is on us) on both campaigns.
- No access card / device fees are payable for joiners in August 2025.
- Discounted joining fees are applicable for public joiners on all clubs in both campaigns, i.e. R99 at all Clubs, including RED but R399 for Collection Clubs
- The Discovery Vitality Activation fee of R699 applies to all Vitality new joiners whether on Club, Premier / Premier Select or Collection Club membership (or lower fee dependant on various factors).
- For all campaigns, i.e. #1 and #2 your first debit order will be for monthly membership fees in respect of September 2025.
- If you have chosen a debit order date that is not the 1st of the month, then the debit order for the membership fees will run on the specified date in in the preceding month as per the membership agreement.
- The relevant membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership system in August 2025 by specified date, in order to qualify.
- These offers are not applicable to short term, 3-month, complimentary, Vitality Legacy Club, Virgin Active staff, or tenant memberships.
- The discounts on monthly dues will only apply if the member’s Virgin Active account is in good standing and not in arrears.
- These offers also apply to new (not converting) corporate members where Virgin Active has a workplace wellness partnership in place. The joining fees of R99 and R399 (Collection) will apply for these in August 2025.
- Your contract must not be cancelled or terminated within the residual cooling-off period, or the initial commitment period stipulated in the membership contract, in order to qualify for the free and / or discounted months.
Exclusions from these promotional offers as set out in August campaigns above:
- No new members will be allowed to drop their price point (i.e. downgrade) their membership, including but not limited to for example, members who joined on a public membership and then wish to convert to a corporate or wellness programme membership (eg Discovery Vitality) within their initial 6 months of their membership period. This is not allowed from 1 July 2025 onwards.
- No new members on one- or two-year membership types, will be allowed to benefit from more than one new joiner campaign within the initial 12 or 24 months respectively of their most recent membership sign-on date. This includes current members who are within their initial 12- or 24-month membership period of their current membership contract.
- These offers are not available to members joining at Virgin Active Point.
- No member who has been a Virgin Active member in the last 30 days can benefit from these offers.
- These offers are not applicable to members joining via a short term, complimentary, Virgin Active staff, or tenant membership.
- No existing members qualify for any of these offers and these offers are not applicable to any membership conversions of any kind.
- Members who have had a prior membership at Virgin Active will need to have a clean membership history that was/is in good standing (i.e., no previous or current arrears and/or poor disciplinary record) in order to rejoin Virgin Active.
- If the member cancels their Virgin Active membership (for example, but not necessarily limited to, cancellation within the legally permitted cooling-off periods) then they will not be eligible for the free and / or discounted months as specified in these offers and these amounts will be refunded to the member.
- These promotional offers cannot be exchanged for cash, or as a refund or some other rebate.
- Facilities and group classes may differ from Club to Club.
- Should a member elect to “freeze” (i.e., suspend) their membership contract while this promotional campaign is running (i.e., from 1 August 2025), the free and / or discounted months will cease and / or will not be carried over.
- These offers will only apply if the member’s Virgin Active account is in good standing and not in arrears.
- Your contract must not be cancelled or terminated within the residual cooling-off period, or the initial commitment period stipulated in the membership contract, in order to qualify for any discounted months that may be due.
AUGUST CAMPAIGN #3 U14, Club-V and Club-V Max offers for AUGUST 2025:
Join Virgin Active on an U14 or Club-V / Club-V Max membership type between 1 and 31 August 2025 (both dates included) and pay no membership fees for August 2025:
- If you join on an U14 membership type or Club-V / Club-V Max membership between 1 to 31 August 2025 (both dates inclusive) then you will not be required to pay any upfront fees (i.e., no joining fees, no access card / device fees, and no pro rata membership fees) for August 2025 plus receive a free Swim Assessment at participating Clubs.
- This offer is available to all corporate memberships, including Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners.
- The free Swim Assessment is strictly only at participating Clubs and must be taken up within a month of joining
AUGUST CAMPAIGN #4: Virgin Active parents “bring your child to Club-V for 2 free visits”
- Between 1 to 31 August 2025 (both dates inclusive), Virgin Active invites parents and / or legal guardians to bring their child/children to Club-V or Club-V Max for two free visits.
- Parents and /or guardians do not have to be a Virgin Active member.
- Children must be between the ages of 6 weeks to 13 years.
If the parent or legal guardian is not a current Virgin Active member, then
- Parents or legal guardians arriving at the Club will be required to complete a guest register process for themselves and their child/ren for each visit at the Club.
- Parents must bring their original identity document or driver’s license, plus proof that they are the biological parent or legal guardian of every child with them for each visit at the Club.
- Once inside the club, parents or legal guardians may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and will be required to sign them in there.
- Parents or legal guardians will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon entering the club, as well as the guest register for themselves.
If the parent is a current Virgin Active member, then:
- Parents or legal guardians who are current Virgin Active members, arriving at the Club, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
- Parents must provide proof that they are the biological parent or legal guardian of every child with them for each visit at the Club.
- Once inside the club, parents or legal guardians may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and will be required to sign them in there.
AUGUST CAMPAIGN #5: Adult, Club-V and U14 offer – Swim Assessment
Join Virgin Active in August 2025 and qualify for a free Swim Assessment:
- If you join Virgin Active on any membership during the month of August 2025, then you will qualify for a free Swim Assessment conducted by the resident Swim Coach to assess your level of swimming competency and advise on coaching required to improve your swimming level.
- This offer is available to all new adult members as well as children joining on U18 and Club-V/Club-V Max membership products, only at certain participating Clubs.
- The resident Swim Coach will contact all new joiners and set up a time for the complimentary appointment and this must be taken up within a month of joining Virgin Active.
- You will be required to swim (i.e., get into the swimming pool) during this session and the entire session will last around 20 to 30 minutes. This Swim Assessment session can be for the child or the adult member.
