Terms and Conditions: Ramadan Freeze 2025

Virgin Active members who observe the month of Ramadan can opt for free membership freeze between 1 March to 31 March 2025:


  • Virgin Active members can choose to have their membership frozen for the month of March 2025, at no charge, to cover them for the Ramadan fasting period, subject to the below terms and conditions.

Eligibility:

  • New joiners and existing members with an adult 1-year or 2-year membership, as well as Junior Memberships (e.g. Under 18 and Club V / Club V Max membership products). 
  • Members must be in good standing with Virgin Active and whose account is not in arrears. 
  • Existing adult members upgrading to Collection Club status.
  • This offer is applicable in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.

Exclusions:

  • New members or existing members on short term, 3-month, complimentary, Virgin Active staff, or tenant membership.
  • Members who have accessed any Club during the month of March 2025. 

Process:

Members must follow the standard freeze request process by either:

  • Calling the Virgin Active call center at 0860 200 911;
  • Emailing Virgin Active at [email protected]; or
  • Visiting their club in person to submit a request.

Additional conditions:

  • Members who request a freezing of their membership will not be allowed access to any Virgin Active Club during the Ramadan period (i.e., 1 March – 31 March 2025). Any access to and / or use of club facilities during this time will disqualify the member.
  • Please note that any member who is currently benefiting from an ongoing campaign or promotional offer may become ineligible for that campaign or offer if they opt for the Ramadan freeze. For instance, if a campaign requires a member to train a certain number of times in a month to qualify for a benefit, choosing the Ramadan freeze means that the member will not have access to the club(s) in March 2025 and, as a result, they will not be able to meet the required number of visits, which may lead to disqualification from that campaign or offer.
  • Any member who opts to freeze their membership for the Ramadan period member will be excluded from campaigns and VA Reward benefits for the month of March 2025, where applicable. 
  • Debit order members: Members who have monthly debit orders for their qualifying membership contracts and who notify Virgin Active before their debit order for their membership fees for March 2025 has been successfully processed, will not be debited for March 2025. Alternatively, members who notify Virgin Active after their monthly debit order for March 2025 has already been successfully processed, will not be debited for their membership fees in April 2025. 
  • Cash upfront members: Members who have paid cash upfront for their qualifying membership contract will receive an additional free month that will be added to the end of their initial commitment period (i.e., an additional month free of charge).
  • Nothing in these terms and conditions entitles members to claim any amounts from Virgin Active and Virgin Active is not liable for any amounts.  
  • Virgin Active will not charge any additional charges for the debit order freeze in terms of this offer. However, any other costs or charges (other than the membership fees) charged by Virgin Active or any one of Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners which may be applicable (including, but not limited to, any activation fees) will still be due and payable by the member. 

Corporate partners:

  • This offer is available to Discovery Vitality, Momentum Multiply and other corporate members who may opt to freeze their membership during Ramadan 2025. 
  • This offer is not available to Discovery Vitality legacy members (pre-2010) and Momentum legacy members (pre-2017).
  • This promotional offer cannot be exchanged for cash or other rebate.
  • Virgin Active reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions of this offer and / or campaign at any time, with or without notice, and at our sole discretion.
