Why don’t you have generators at all clubs?

Some of our clubs use medium-sized generators to power lighting and other essential services, but the size of generator needed to provide full power for all our facilities and the cost of the diesel just wouldn’t be feasible and would impact of membership fees. We don’t want that. Here is a list of clubs with generators and info on what the generators power.

We know Eskom’s loadshedding is super disruptive- it affects ALL aspects of life from work to workouts. We don’t want you to miss out on your stress-busting workouts and recommend you download the loadshedding app to check the schedules for your club, allowing you to plan your visits with ease.

There are over 400 on-demand workouts on our app, the vast majority require no equipment or electricity. We’ve even created a beat the loadshedding playlist.

Generators simply aren’t a sustainable nor cost-effective solution to Eskom’s continued loadshedding. The purchase, installation and continued running costs for a single club would run into the millions of rands and this is a cost that would increase memberships costs.

We’re currently piloting Battery backup systems (Battery Back Up Systems project) and will then make a decision on rollout.
