New Joiner Promotions: September 2021, Terms and Conditions

Join Virgin Active from 1 to 30 September 2021 and receive a complimentary limited-edition kit bag:

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Virgin Active membership from 1 to 30 September 2021 (both dates inclusive), in terms of an adult 1 or 2 year membership, receive a complimentary, limited-edition, designer kit bag.
  • This bag offer is only available while stocks last, and only one bag per member will be issued.
  • Members who are joining at Collection Clubs as well as existing members upgrading to Collection Club status will receive a bag.

Exclusions from this promotional campaign offer:

    • This offer includes members who are joining at Virgin Active RED and Collection Clubs.
    • This offer includes members joining in Namibia and Botswana.
    • This offer does not include any: (i) intergrades (i.e. upgrades, downgrades and/or interclub transfers), or (ii) any changes occurring within the same/existing membership contract.
    • All Junior Memberships (e.g. Under 18 and Club V / Club V Max membership products) will not qualify for this campaign.
    • This offer is not applicable to members joining via a short term, 3-month, complimentary, Virgin Active staff or tenant membership.
    • Members who have received a cash back, workout bonus, bag or voucher from Virgin Active in the last 12 months (i.e. calculated from the calendar month preceding the month of this promotional sales campaign), do not qualify.
    • This offer is excluded from membership conversions of any kind if a member’s prior membership is still within the commitment period of the prior contract.
    • This promotional offer cannot be exchanged for cash or other rebate.

Join Virgin Active between 1 and 30 September 2021 (both dates included) and get the rest of the month on us:

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Virgin Active membership will pay a joining fee of R100 and no pro-rata or access device fee when joining in September 2021, provided they meet the following qualifying criteria:
    • Joining on an adult 1 or 2 year membership between 1 and 30 September 2021 (both dates included)
  • No access card / device fee is payable upon joining.
  • No pro-rata membership fees will be payable for September 2021.
  • The members’ first debit order will be for fees in respect of membership fees for October 2021.
  • Members joining via corporate memberships are required to pay the applicable activation fees at Virgin Active the time of joining (excluding Vitality).
  • U18s and Club-V refer to specific offer available to them in September.

Join Virgin Active as a Vitality member between 1 and 30 September 2021 and pay no activation fee and no access card fee:

  • New members joining Virgin Active via Discovery Vitality, pay zero activation fee in September 2021 as well as no access device fee.
  • Subject to confirmation of valid Vitality membership.
  • Visit discovery.co.za to join Vitality and for full Ts and Cs.

Join Virgin Active on an U18 membership type between 1 and 30 September 2021 (both dates included) and pay no upfront fees:

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up an Under 18 membership type pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no card fee and no pro rata membership fee.
  • The members’ first debit order will only be for fees in respect of October 2021.
  • This offer is available to all corporate memberships, i.e. Discovery Vitality, Momentum Multiply and Sanlam Reality as well as all other corporate memberships, also pay no access device fees at point of sale during the month of September.
  • U18 joiners also qualify for a free Swim Assessment in September 2021 (refer to Swim Assessment Ts and Cs)

Children joining Virgin Active on a Club-V membership type between 1 and 30 September 2021 (both dates included) and pay no upfront fees:

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Club-V membership type pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no card fee and no pro rata membership fee.
  • The members’ first debit order will only be for fees in respect of October 2021.
  • Club-V joiners also qualify for a free Swim Assessment in September 2021 (refer to Swim Assessment Ts and Cs)
Children joining Club-V from 1 to 30 September 2021 and receive a complimentary backpack:
  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Club-V membership from 1 to 30 September 2021 (both dates inclusive), complimentary, kids backpack.
  • This bag offer is only available while stocks last, and only one bag per member will be issued.

Join Virgin Active in September 2021 and qualify for a free Swim Assessment:

  • All members joining at select Virgin Active Health Clubs in September 2021, qualify for a free Swim Assessment conducted by the resident Swim Coach to assess the members level of swimming competency and advise on coaching required to improve the members swimming level.
  • This offer is available to all new Adult members as well as children joining on U18 and Club-V membership products.
  • The list of the 128 participating Clubs is attached.
  • The resident Swim Coach will contact all new joiners and set up a time for the complimentary appointment.
  • The member will be required to swim in this session and the entire session will last around 20 to 30 minutes.

General clauses applicable to all campaigns:

  • The relevant membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership system by no later than 30 September 2021.
  • Exclusions: These offers are not applicable to short term, 3-month, complimentary, Virgin Active staff or tenant memberships.
  • Existing members upgrading to Collection Club status qualify for these offers, as well as new joiners at Collection Clubs.
  • These campaigns are applicable to members joining in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.
  • This promotional offer cannot be exchanged for cash or some other rebate.
  • Facilities and group classes may differ from Club to Club.

Terms and Conditions: Virgin Active South Africa parents 'bring your child to Club-V for 2 free visits:

  • Between 1 - 30 September 2021, (both dates inclusive), Virgin Active invites parents, who have received a printed voucher, to bring their child/children to Club-V for 2 free visits.
  • This includes 2 free visits for the accompanying parent, if not a Virgin Active member

If the parent is not a current Virgin Active South Africa member:

First visit

  • Having received their voucher, parents who are not current VASA members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a guest registration process for themselves and their child/ren
  • Parents must bring their ID with
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to our Club-V kids' facility, and sign them in

2nd visit

  • Non-member parents, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, can enter the club for the 2nd time and final time, using their ID
  • Parents will be required to complete a short disclaimer for their children upon club entry, as well as the guest register for themselves. 
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to our Club-V kids' facility, and sign them in, with assistance from the Club-V crew

If the parent is a current Virgin Active member:

First visit

  • Having received their voucher, parents who are current VASA members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a short disclaimer for their children upon club entry
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to our Club-V kids' facility, and sign them in, with assistance from the Club-V crew

2nd visit

  • Member parents, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, will be required to complete a short disclaimer for their children upon club entry
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to our Club-V kids' facility, and sign them in, with assistance from the Club-V crew

 

General Terms and Conditions:

  • Parents bringing their child/ren to Club-V, to redeem the voucher, must produce the original 2-visit voucher, upon arrival at the club
  • Parents will be requested to book in advance for their children, using a manual booking process at our kids' facilities
  • Bookings can only be made for visits between 09:00 and 16:00 - Mondays - Sundays i.e. off-peak hours
  • Once bookings are completed, the voucher will be kept by VASA for administrative purposes
  • The voucher is only valid for 2 free visits per child
  • Only parents or legal guardians may redeem the voucher on behalf of their child/ren, and access the club with their child/ren
  • Access for non-member parents, is subject to the parent providing positive identification with a photograph and subject to the parent signing the guest access register, including having their photograph taken
  • By accessing Virgin Active during this period, the parent agrees to being contacted by a Virgin Active sales consultant
  • Guest Vouchers may not be redeemed for cash
  • All guests (including children) are required to adhere to the Club Rules and Regulations as stipulated in the Club Rule Book https://hello.virginactive.co.za/assist/va-rule-book
  • Facilities may vary from Club to Club
