New Joiner Promotions: November 2023, Terms and Conditions

Join Virgin Active on a 1 or 2 year membership type between 17 and 30 November 2023 (both dates included) train at Virgin Active 3 times between the 17th Nov – 10th Dec and qualify for 2 months on us, i.e. January and February 2024:

November 2023 Black Friday Weekend Terms and Conditions:

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Virgin Active membership will receive 2 months on us, i.e. January and February 2024, provided they meet the following qualifying criteria:
  • Joining on an adult 1 or 2 year membership between 17 and 30 November 2023 (both dates included); and
  • Training a minimum of 3 times on separate days in the required period 17th Nov – 10th Dec after their date of joining
  • And having a successful debit order payment in respect of December membership fees
  • Pro-rata membership fees will not be payable for November 2023, i.e. November is on us.
  • The members’ first debit order will be for fees in respect of December 2023.
  • Virgin Active will not debit qualifying members in respect of membership fees for January and February 2024.
  • The members’ December 2023 debit order must be successful on first attempt in order for them to qualify for the waiver of January and February membership fees.
  • If the member’s chosen debit order date is not the 1st of the month, then the debit order for the membership fees for December 2023 will run on the specified date in November 2023 as per the membership agreement.
  • Members paying cash upfront, not via debit order, will pay for 12 months upfront and receive the remainder of November 2023 on us. They will also receive an additional 2 months of membership for free, added to the end of their contract period, provided they meet the qualifying criteria.
  • The relevant membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership system by no later than 30 November 2023.
  • This offer is not applicable to short term, 3-month, complimentary, Vitality Legacy Club, Virgin Active staff or tenant memberships.
  • Existing members upgrading to Collection Club status qualify for this offer, as well as new joiners at Collection Clubs.
  • This offer will only apply if the member’s Virgin Active account is in good standing and not in arrears.
  • This campaign is applicable to all NEW members who join in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.
  • The member’s contract must not be in future dated cancellation, cancelled or terminated within the residual cooling-off period or the initial commitment period stipulated in the membership contract, in order to qualify for the free months.
  • This promotional offer cannot be exchanged for cash or some other rebate.
  • Facilities and group classes may differ from Club to Club.
  • Should a member elect to “freeze” (i.e. suspend) their membership contract in the first two months of joining, i.e. November and December while this promotional campaign is running, the free months will not be carried over.
  • Note: Members choosing the Black Friday offer do not qualify for any other Promotion, i.e. Family promotion or any Corporate discount
  • New rates apply from January 2024.

 

Join Virgin Active on a Public 1 or 2 year membership type as a Discovery Vitality member between 17 and 30 November 2023 (both dates included) train at Virgin Active 3 times between the 17th Nov – 10th Dec and qualify for 2 months on us, i.e. January and February 2024:

 

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Virgin Active membership will receive 2 months on us, i.e. January and February 2024, provided they meet the following qualifying criteria:
  • Joining on an adult 1 or 2 year membership between 17 and 30 November 2023 (both dates included); and
  • Training a minimum of 3 times on separate days in the required period 17th Nov – 10th Dec after their date of joining
  • And having a successful debit order payment in respect of December membership fees

Join Virgin Active as a family on a Premier 1-year membership and your partner and children (Club-V) will receive a discount of 40% discount on their monthly rate. A family can join their children on Club-V at 40% discount, this product excludes Youth products.

  • New joiners taking up a Club one- or two-year membership type (hereinafter referred to as “members”), get November on us, i.e. pro-rata membership fees will not be payable for November 2023.
  • Applicable joining fees apply.
  • Discovery Vitality members pay R499 Activation Fee.

Join as a family on a Premier 1-year membership and, you, your Spouse and Club-V children will receive a 40% discount on their monthly rate plus discounted membership when joining Virgin Active together:

  • Get 40% off the standard monthly fee of R1345 and pay R807 instead for a one-year adult Premier membership, applicable to Principle, spouse and Club-V children.
  • Definition of a family: To qualify for the family offer, the principal member, Spouse / 2nd member and child(ren) must all join together, on the same day, at the same Club, at the same time and using the same bank account details to pay for their membership and in the joining order of Principal, Spouse and child(ren).
  • This offer is not applicable to one parent joining with their child only, these must be a spouse / 2nd member in order to qualify.
  • The public principal member pays R199 joining fee and the 2nd member / Spouse pays R0 joining fee and child pays R0 joining fee.
  • The Principal and Spouse can join and enjoy this benefit without adding a child.
  • For Discovery Vitality members, the principal member pays activation fee of R499 and the 2nd member / Spouse also pays R499 activation fee and the child pays zero activation fee.
  • Corporate members receive their further applicable discount on this discounted amount of R807.
  • One child, aged between 6 weeks to 13 years only, qualifies for 40% discount off Club-V and/or Club-V Max (0 – 7 years and 8 – 13 years U14s) membership for one year at the same Premier status as the parent. This also applies in the case of a 3rd child joining Club-V / Max, they will also receive the 40% discount.
  • This does not apply to children aged between 14-17 joining on the youth product or to any children at all over the age of 13 years.
  • This discount for the 2nd member / spouse and Club-V/Max child is valid for 12 months only and then the membership rate reverts to the going rate for a Premier 1 year membership.
  • If the principal member cancels, then the spouse / 2nd member and child revert to full membership rates.
  • Similarly, if the spouse or child cancels within the initial period, then all revert to full memberships rates.

 

In addition, members joining as a family at select outer-lying clubs on a Club 1 year membership also qualify for the 40% family membership discount:

  • Get between 10 to 20% off the standard monthly fee on Club 2-year adult memberships.
  • These products are not available at any other Clubs.

Offers for children in November 2023:

Join Virgin Active on a 0 to 7 years, U14 or 8 to 13 years U14 membership type between 1 and 30 November 2023 (both dates included) and pay no upfront fees: 

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up on of these membership types pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no access card / device fee and no pro rata membership fee for November 2023. 
  • Qualify for a free swim assessment, in participating Clubs.

Club-V and Club-V Max offers for November 2023

Join Virgin Active on a Club-V (6 weeks to 7 years) and Club-V Max (6 weeks to 13 years) membership type between 1 and 30 November 2023 (both dates included) and pay no upfront fees: 

  • Enjoy 2 free visits to Club-V or Club-V Max, before choosing to sign up with us
  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Club-V or Club-V Max membership type pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no access card / device fee and no pro rata membership fee for November 2023. 
  • This offer is available to all corporate memberships, including Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners.
  • Qualify for a free swim assessment, in participating Clubs.

Terms and Conditions: Virgin Active parents “bring your child to Club-V or Club-V Max for 2 free visits”

  • Between 1 to 30 November 2023 (both dates inclusive), Virgin Active invites parents, to bring their child/children to Club-V or Club-V Max for 2 free visits.
  • This includes 2 free visits for the accompanying parent, if they are not a Virgin Active member.

 

 

If the parent is not a current Virgin Active member:

First visit:

  • Parents who are not current Virgin Active members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a guest register process for themselves and their child/ren.
  • Parents must bring their ID document with them.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V/Club-V Max facility and sign them in there.

Second visit:

  • Parents who are not Virgin Active members, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, can enter the club for the 2nd time and final time using their ID.
  • Parents will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon entering the club, as well as the guest register for themselves.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V/Club-V Max facility and sign them in.

 

If the parent is a current Virgin Active member:

First visit:

  • Parents who are current Virgin Active members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V/Club-V Max facility and sign them in.

Second visit:

  • Parents who are Virgin Active members, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V/Club-V Max facility and sign them in.

 

Adult, Club-V/Club-V Max and U14 offer – Swim Assessment

Join Virgin Active in November 2023 and qualify for a free Swim Assessment: 

  • All members joining at select Virgin Active Health Clubs in November 2023, qualify for a free Swim Assessment conducted by the resident Swim Coach to assess the members level of swimming competency and advise on coaching required to improve the members swimming level. 
  • This offer is available to all new Adult members as well as children joining on U14 and Club-V/Club-V Max membership products. 
  • The resident Swim Coach will contact all new joiners and set up a time for the complimentary appointment. 
  • The member will be required to swim in this session and the entire session will last around 20 to 30 minutes.
