New Joiner Promotions: November 2021, Terms and Conditions

 Join Virgin Active from 1 to 30 November 2021 and have a payment break in January 2022 

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Virgin Active membership from 1 to 30 November 2021 (both dates inclusive), in terms of an adult 1 or 2 year membership will:
    • get the rest of November 2021 on us,
    • start paying membership fees in December 2021,
    • have no debit order due in respect of membership fees for January 2022, and
    • debit orders for fees relating to December 2021 will be due.
  • This means that you start paying in December and then have a payment break for fees in respect of January 2022 and then start paying again from February 2022 onwards.
  • The members’ first debit order deduction for membership fees will commence as from December 2021.
  • The member’s debit order deduction for December 2021 needs to be successful at the first instance in order for the member to enjoy the waiver of the debit order deductions in respect of January 2022s fees.
  • For membership fee payment by way of debit order deductions, the number of full membership fee instalments will accordingly be as set out under these promotional terms and conditions.
  • This offer includes members taking up Collection Club membership and existing members upgrading to Collection Club status.
  • This promotional offer includes all Virgin Active Clubs in Namibia and in Botswana.
  • Joining fees and access device/card fees will apply.
  • In order to enable those members paying cash upfront (not by means of debit order) to participate in the offer as part of this promotional campaign, 1 additional membership fee free month will be added to the end of their Commitment Period. During the period of the additional 1 membership month, the entire contractual content as set out and accepted by the member in the membership application and terms and conditions continue to apply as they did in the original Commitment Period. This application extends to the member’s indicated acceptance of and agreement to the terms and conditions, as well as the Medical Risk and Disclaimer.
  • The membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership loading system by no later than 30 November 2021 in order to qualify.
  • This offer is also available to Members joining via one of Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners who are required to pay the applicable activation fees at Virgin Active at the time of joining (excluding Vitality members).
  • For U18s and Club-V, refer to the specific offer available to them in November 2021.
  • These members will have a price increase in January 2022 (but since January 2022s membership fees are on us, the 2022 increased membership fee rate will only take effect as from February 2022).

Join Virgin Active as a Discovery Vitality member from 1 to 30 November 2021, pay no activation or card fees and get the rest of 2021 on us, only pay for membership from January 2022 – Your first payment will be in respect of January 2022.

  • New members taking up a Virgin Active membership from 1 to 30 November 2021 (both dates inclusive), in terms of an adult 1 year Vitality membership, pay zero activation fees in November 2021 as well as no access device fee and will only start paying membership fees for the month of January 2022.
  • No November 2021 pro-rata membership fees are payable, nor are membership fees applicable for December 2021.
  • The members’ first debit order deduction will only be for fees in respect of January 2022 and this debit order will be based off the going 2022 retail membership rate.
  • This offer includes members taking up Collection Club membership and existing members upgrading to Collection Club status.
  • The membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership loading system by no later than 30 November 2021 in order to qualify.
  • Subject to confirmation of valid Vitality membership.
  • Visit discovery.co.za to join Vitality.
  • Vitality members have a January 2022 price increase (December is on us but the January 2022 instalment will be at the 2022 rate)

Exclusions from this promotional campaign:

    • With the sole exception of the abovementioned upgrade to Collection Club status, this offer does not include: (i) intergrades (i.e. upgrades, downgrades and/or interclub transfers), or (ii) any changes occurring within the same/existing membership contract.
    • This offer is not applicable to members joining via a short term, complimentary, Virgin Active staff or tenant membership.
    • All Junior Memberships (e.g. Under 18 and Club V / Club V Max membership products) will not qualify for this campaign.
    • This offer is excluded from membership conversions of any kind if a member’s prior membership is still within the commitment period of the prior contract.
    • Members who have had a prior membership at Virgin Active will need to have a clean membership history that was/is in good standing (i.e. no previous or current arrears and/or poor disciplinary record), in order to qualify for this offer.
    • If the member has cancelled their Virgin Active membership (for example, but not necessarily limited to, cancellation within the legally permitted cooling-off periods) then they will not be eligible for the free months.
    • This promotional offer cannot be exchanged for cash or some other rebate.
    • Facilities and group classes may differ from Club to Club.
    • Should a member elect to “freeze” (i.e. suspend) their membership contract while this promotional campaign is running, the free month will not be carried over.

Join Virgin Active on an U18 membership type between 1 and 30 November 2021 (both dates included) and pay no upfront fees: 

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up an Under 18 membership type pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no card fee and no pro rata membership fee. 
  • The members’ first debit order deduction will only be for fees in respect of December 2021. 
  • This offer is available to all corporate memberships, including Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners, who also pay no access device fees at point of sale during the month of November.
  • U18 joiners also qualify for a free Swim Assessment in November 2021(refer to Swim Assessment Ts and Cs). 

Children joining Virgin Active on a Club-V membership type between 1 and 30 November 2021 (both dates included) and pay no upfront fees: 

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Club-V membership type pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no card fee and no pro rata membership fee. 
  • The members’ first debit order deduction will only be for fees in respect of December 2021. 
  • Club-V joiners also qualify for a free Swim Assessment in November 2021 (refer to Swim Assessment Ts and Cs) 

Join Virgin Active in November 2021 and qualify for a free Swim Assessment: 

  • All members joining at select Virgin Active Health Clubs in November 2021, qualify for a free Swim Assessment conducted by the resident Swim Coach to assess the members level of swimming competency and advise on coaching required to improve the members swimming level. 
  • This offer is available to all new Adult members as well as children joining on U18 and Club-V membership products. 
  • The list of the 128 participating Clubs is attached. 
  • The resident Swim Coach will contact all new joiners and set up a time for the complimentary appointment. 
  • The member will be required to swim in this session and the entire session will last around 20 to 30 minutes. 

Terms and Conditions: Virgin Active South Africa parents “bring your child to Club-V for 2 free visits”

  • Between 1 – 30 November 2021 (both dates inclusive), Virgin Active invites parents, who have received a printed voucher, to bring their child/children to Club-V for 2 free visits.
  • This includes 2 free visits for the accompanying parent, if they are not a Virgin Active member.

If the parent is not a current Virgin Active South Africa member:

First visit:

  • Having received their voucher, parents who are not current Virgin Active South Africa members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a guest register process for themselves and their child/ren.
  • Parents must bring their ID document with them
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and sign them in there.

Second visit:

  • Parents who are not Virgin Active members, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, can enter the club for the 2nd time and final time using their ID.
  • Parents will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon entering the club, as well as the guest register for themselves.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and sign them in.

If the parent is a current Virgin Active South Africa member:

First visit:

  • Having received their voucher, parents who are current Virgin Active members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and sign them in.

Second visit:

  • Parents who are Virgin Active members, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and sign them in.
