New Joiner Promotions: June 2022, Terms and Conditions

Join Virgin Active from 1 to 30 June 2022, pay a joining fee, get the rest of June on us and get 2 months for free after your initial 12 or 24 month membership period, plus get 30 days of free smoothies from Kauai.

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Virgin Active membership from 1 to 30 June 2022 (both dates inclusive), in terms of an adult 1 or 2 year membership will:
    • Pay applicable Joining Fee
    • get the rest of June 2022 on us (no pro-rata fee due)
    • and get two months on us for month 13 and 14 (on a 12 month initial period membership) and months 25 and 26 on us for a 24 month initial period membership.
  • The members’ first debit order deduction for membership fees will be in respect of July 2022.
  • This offer includes members taking up Collection Club membership and existing members upgrading to Collection Club status.
  • No Access card / device fees will be charged in June 2022 for new joiners.
  • Joining fees apply as follows: Collection Club members pay R150, Premier members pay R50, including Youth Premier products, All other public retail memberships are at R100 joining fee including all Youth Club products.
  • Members joining in Namibia and Botswana in June 2022, pay a joining fee (NS100 and P100 respectively) and get the rest of June on us, start paying in respect of July membership fees. Alsoget 2 months free at the end of your 12- or 24-month contract and receive a Virgin Active bag instead of the smoothie offer (while stocks last).
  • The membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership loading system by no later than 30 June 2022 in order to qualify.
  • This offer is also available to Members joining via one of Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners who are required to pay the applicable activation fees at Virgin Active at the time of joining (refer to specific Ts and Cs applicable to Vitality members).
  • For U18s and Club-V, refer to the specific offer available to them in June 2022.

Join Virgin Active as a Discovery Vitality member from 1 to 30 June 2022, pay no Activation fee, no card fee and get the rest of June and July on us, only start paying in respect of August 2022 membership fees AND receive 30 days of free smoothies from Kauai:

  • New members taking up a Virgin Active membership from 1 to 30 June 2022 (both dates inclusive), in terms of an adult 1 year Vitality membership, pay zero activation or access card / device fees in June 2022 and only start paying membership fees in respect of the month of August 2022.
  • No June 2022 pro-rata membership fees are payable, nor are membership fees applicable for July 2022.
  • No access card / device fees are payable for joiners in June 2022.
  • The members’ first debit order deduction will only be for fees in respect of August 2022.
  • This offer includes members taking up Collection Club membership and existing members upgrading to Collection Club status.

KAUAI / VIRGIN ACTIVE: 30-day Smoothie Subscription Offer

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • All new adult joiners, taking up a 1- or 2-year membership at Virgin Active South Africa Clubs in the month of June 2022 are required to download the new Kauai app in order to qualify and receive their 30-day Smoothie subscription via the Kauai app.
  • Only available on compatible smart phones.
  • The below Kauai offer is available to all new members joining Virgin Active South Africa between 1- 30 June 2022 (excludes U18s). 
  • The member must provide the same cell phone number to Virgin Active, that was used to sign up for their Kauai app profile in order for them to be rewarded with their 30-day Smoothie subscription offer. This must be their own unique cellphone number. 
  • If a member has provided a different cell phone number to Virgin Active when joining in June, to what was used to create a Kauai App profile, the 30-day Smoothie subscription offer will not be visible to the member in their Kauai app profile.
  • The smoothies can be ordered and redeemed daily for 30 consecutive days from date after joining Virgin Active.
  • Members can redeem one small (350ml) Smoothie per day. Once a member has redeemed their daily small (350ml) Smoothie voucher, a new voucher will become available the next day to redeem.
  • Members can redeem any 350ml Smoothie, Protein Smoothie and/or Superfood Smoothie as part of their 30-day Smoothie subscription.
  • Kids Smoothies (250ml) is not included in the 30-Day Smoothie Subscription offer.
  • Any smoothie add ons will be charged for at the normal menu price.
  • To redeem this offer, simply follow the next steps:
    • Tap on the ‘’Subscriptions’’ section in the Kauai App
    • Select ‘’My Subscriptions’’ and your ‘’30-Day Virgin Active Smoothie Subscription’’ offer will be visible.
    • Tap to view or redeem your 30-Day Smoothie Subscription vouchers.
    • To redeem your smoothie voucher in store, place your smoothie order at the till, open the offer and scan the QR code in order for the voucher to redeem on the transaction.
    • If you would like to place an order ahead for pick up for a select time OR for delivery, select the store that you would like to order from, select your smoothie and add to your cart, proceed to checkout and select ‘’use a subscription’’ in order to redeem your voucher on the transaction.
  • Members can redeem their Smoothie subscription offer at any Kauai store in South Africa (inside and outside Virgin Active), as well as the Kauai Food Truck.
  • These vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or used against any other smoothie or Kauai special offer.
  • These vouchers cannot be redeemed from Kauai with any other delivery partners like Uber Eats, Mr D Food and/or Bolt Food.
  • Members cannot redeem their Smoothie subscription offer at Kauai Saheti School, Kauai American School, Kauai Parklands College or any store outside of the borders of South Africa.
  • Members joining in Namibia and Botswana will not receive this offer, refer to specific offer for these territories for June 2022 and these vouchers cannot be redeemed in Namibia or Botswana Kauai outlets or any other Kauai stores internationally.
  • The 30-Day Smoothie Subscription offer cannot be redeemed at Nü stores.

U18, Club-V and Club-V Max offers for June 2022

Join Virgin Active on an U18 membership type between 1 and 30 June 2022 (both dates included) and pay no upfront fees: 

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up an U18 membership type pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no access card / device fee and no pro rata membership fee for June 2022. 
  • This offer is available to all corporate memberships, including Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners.

Join Virgin Active on a Club-V membership type between 1 and 30 June 2022 (both dates included) and pay no upfront fees: 

  • New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Club-V membership type (0-7 years and 8-13 years U18 memberships) pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no access card / device fee and no pro rata membership fee for June 2022. 
  • This offer is available to all corporate memberships, including Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners.
  • Prior to signing up, children are eligible for 2 free guest visits to Club-V (6 weeks to 7 years) and Club-V Max (6 weeks to 13 years)
  • Any child signed up from 1 – 30 June 2022, gets a free swim assessment at participating clubs

Exclusions from these promotional offers:

  • With the sole exception of the abovementioned upgrade to Collection Club status, these offers do not include: (i) intergrades (i.e. upgrades, downgrades and/or interclub transfers), or (ii) any changes occurring within the same/existing membership contract.
  • These offers are not applicable to members joining via a short term, complimentary, Virgin Active staff or tenant membership.
  • All Junior Memberships (e.g. Under 18 and Club V / Club V Max membership products) will not qualify for these offers.
  • These offers are excluded from membership conversions of any kind if a member’s prior membership is still within the commitment period of the prior contract.
  • Members who have had a prior membership at Virgin Active will need to have a clean membership history that was/is in good standing (i.e. no previous or current arrears and/or poor disciplinary record), in order to qualify for these offers.
  • If the member has cancelled their Virgin Active membership (for example, but not necessarily limited to, cancellation within the legally permitted cooling-off periods) then they will not be eligible for the free months.
  • These promotional offers cannot be exchanged for cash or some other rebate.
  • Facilities and group classes may differ from Club to Club.
  • Should a member elect to “freeze” (i.e. suspend) their membership contract while this promotional campaign is running, the free month will not be carried over.

Terms and Conditions: Virgin Active South Africa parents “bring your child to Club-V for 2 free visits”

  • Between 1 – 30 June 2022 (both dates inclusive), Virgin Active invites parents, who have received a printed voucher, to bring their child/children to Club-V for 2 free visits.
  • This includes 2 free visits for the accompanying parent, if they are not a Virgin Active member.

If the parent is not a current Virgin Active South Africa member:

First visit:

  • Having received their voucher, parents who are not current Virgin Active South Africa members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a guest register process for themselves and their child/ren.
  • Parents must bring their ID document with them
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and sign them in there.

Second visit:

  • Parents who are not Virgin Active members, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, can enter the club for the 2nd time and final time using their ID.
  • Parents will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon entering the club, as well as the guest register for themselves.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and sign them in.

If the parent is a current Virgin Active South Africa member:

First visit:

  • Having received their voucher, parents who are current Virgin Active members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and sign them in.

Second visit:

  • Parents who are Virgin Active members, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
  • Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and sign them in.

 

Adult, Club-V and U18 offer – Swim Assessment

Join Virgin Active in June 2022 and qualify for a free Swim Assessment: 

  • All members joining at select Virgin Active Health Clubs in June 2022, qualify for a free Swim Assessment conducted by the resident Swim Coach to assess the members level of swimming competency and advise on coaching required to improve the members swimming level. 
  • This offer is available to all new Adult members as well as children joining on U18 and Club-V membership products. 
  • The list of the 128 participating Clubs is attached. 
  • The resident Swim Coach will contact all new joiners and set up a time for the complimentary appointment. 
  • The member will be required to swim in this session and the entire session will last around 20 to 30 minutes.
