JULY CAMPAIGN #1: Join Virgin Active on a Collection membership type between 1 and 31 July 2024 (both dates included), download the Virgin Active App, get July on us, train at Virgin Active 3 times in both August and September 2024, and be in good standing for August and September before the October debit order run, plus get 50% off the next 3 months of membership fees:
- If you join Virgin Active on a new Collection 1 year or 2 year membership between 1 and 31 July 2024 (both dates included) then you could enjoy discounted membership fees as set out below, provided that you meet the following qualifying criteria:
- You sign up for a new adult 1 year or 2 year Collection membership between 1 and 31 July 2024 (both dates included);
- You download the Virgin Active App before 31 August 2024.
- You pay your joining fee (if applicable) and / or activation fee for Discovery Vitality members (if applicable) in July 2024;
- You are in good standing on your Virgin Active membership account before the October debit order run; and
- You train a minimum of 3 times on separate days, in both August and September 2024 (i.e., three times in each calendar month) during the required period (*see detailed cut-off dates).
- Your membership account must be in good standing for August and September 2024 before the October debit order run.
- Qualifying members will receive 50% discount off October, November and December’s 2024 membership fees.
- In summary: Take out a Collection membership, download the Virgin Active App, be in good standing by the October debit order run, and train 3 times in August and 3 times in September in order to enjoy the discounted membership fees in October, November and December 2024, respectively.
- e. Within 30 days of joining have the Virgin Active App on your phone or by no later than 31 August 2024, be in good standing on your Virgin Active membership account at the time of the October debit order run, train 3 times in August and September 2024 on 3 separate days and earn your next discount - pay 50% of your monthly membership fees for October, November and December 2024, i.e., a 50% discount for 3 months.
- e. in August 2024, have the Virgin Active App on your phone, be in good standing on your Virgin Active membership account, train 3 times in August and September on 3 separate days and earn your next discount - pay 50% of your monthly membership fee for October, November and December 2024, i.e., a 50% discount for 3 months.
- If you do not train 3 times in August and in September 2024, then you do not qualify for a discount of your fees for October, November and December 2024.
- Members paying their membership fees in full and up front for 12 or 24 months (i.e., not via debit order) will receive an additional one month, or two months, of membership for free added to the end of their contract period on condition that they have met the qualifying criteria.

- Should a member downgrade from a Collection product the member will lose the 50% discount and no discount will apply.
- Not applicable to members joining in Namibia and Botswana, refer to specific campaign for these joiners.
OR JULY CAMPAIGN #2: Join Virgin Active on a Premier status membership* between 12 and 31 July 2024 (both dates included), receive a limited-edition Virgin Active gym bag plus get 25% off the next 5 months of membership fees (August, September, October, November and December 2024):
- If you join Virgin Active on new Premier 1 year or 2 year membership between 12 to 31 July 2024 (both dates included) and you will receive 25% discount off August, September, October, November and December’s 2024 membership fees.
- Premier members will receive a limited-edition Virgin Active gym bag, while stocks last. The member is required to collect their bag from their Home club during the first week of September 2024. No bags will be saved for members or sent to any other club than the Home club where the member joined up in July 2024.
- In summary: Take out a Premier membership and be in good standing by the monthly debit order run and receive 25% off membership fees in August, September October, November and December 2024.
- Members paying their membership fees in full and up front for 12 or 24 months (i.e., not via debit order) will receive a month of membership for free added to the end of their contract period.

General clauses applicable to July CAMPAIGNS #1, #2, #3 and #4 in JULY 2024, as per the above:
- The discount is based on the membership product you join up on, i.e., Collection members get 50% off, Club get 35% off and Off-Peak and Youth get 20% off in October, November and December. Premier members who joined from 12 to 31 July 2024, get 25% off in August, September, October, November and December 2024.
- If you do an inter-club transfer or downgrade during these months, the discount will fall away in its entirety. If you upgrade, your discount will remain.
- Pro-rata membership fees will not be payable for July 2024 (i.e. July is on us).
- No access card / device fees are payable for joiners in July 2024.
- Joining fees are applicable (R199 for public joiners on all membership types) and R499 activation fee for Discovery Vitality members.
- Your first debit order will be for monthly membership fees in respect of August 2024.
- If you have chosen a debit order date that is not the 1st of the month, then the debit order for the membership fees for August 2024 will run on the specified date in July 2024 as per the membership agreement.
- The relevant membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership system by no later than 31 July 2024 in order to qualify.
- These offers are not applicable to short term, 3-month, complimentary, Vitality Legacy Club, Virgin Active staff, or tenant memberships.
- Existing members upgrading to Collection Club status qualify for these offers, as well as, new joiners at Collection Clubs.
- These offers will only apply if the member’s Virgin Active account is in good standing and not in arrears and that where applicable, the training requirements are met as well as the Virgin Active APP being downloaded on the member’s phone.
- These offers also apply to corporate members including those joining via Discovery Vitality and are subject to confirmation of valid Discovery Vitality membership. Visit discovery.co.za to join Vitality.
- Your contract must not be cancelled or terminated within the residual cooling-off period, or the initial commitment period stipulated in the membership contract, in order to qualify for the free and / or discounted months.
JULY CAMPAIGN #5: Join Virgin Active in Namibia or Botswana and get a month on us:
- If you join Virgin Active on a new 1 year or 2-year membership between 1 July 2024 and 31 July 2024 (both days inclusive) in either Namibia at VA Maerua Mall or VA Kleine Kuppe, or in Botswana at VA Airport Junction, then you can get September 2024 on us, provided that you meet the following qualifying criteria:
- You join on a new adult 1 year or 2-year membership OR a Youth 14–17 year-olds between 1 and 31 July 2024 (both dates included); and
- Your Virgin Active membership account is in good standing at debit order cut-off in August 2024, or if you are paying upfront then your full fees have been paid by the last day in August 2024.
- For example, join in July 2024 on 12 or 24-month membership (as specified above) and be in good standing by the time we do the debit order cut-off for September, and you get September 2024 on us…
- If you are paying full up front membership fees for the 12 or 24 months (i.e., not via debit order) then you will receive an additional one month of membership for free at the end of your contract period, provided you have paid in full in July 2024.
- Your Virgin Active membership account must be in good standing for you to qualify for this third campaign.
- Junior Memberships (e.g., Under 18s-, 7-13- and Club V / Club V Max membership products) do NOT qualify for this offer.
- There are no training or Virgin Active App requirements in order to qualify for this third campaign.
- This offer is not applicable to South African clubs.
Exclusions from these promotional offers as set out in JULY CAMPAIGNS #1, #2. #3, #4 and #5 for July 2024 above:
- Except for Collection Club upgrades and conversions, outside of the initial period, no existing member can qualify for these promotions.
- These offers are not applicable to members joining via a short term, complimentary, Virgin Active staff, or tenant membership.
- These offers are excluded from membership conversions of any kind if a member’s prior membership is still within the commitment period of the prior contract.
- Members who have had a prior membership at Virgin Active will need to have a clean membership history that was/is in good standing (i.e., no previous or current arrears and/or poor disciplinary record) to qualify for these offers.
- If the member has cancelled their Virgin Active membership (for example, but not necessarily limited to, cancellation within the legally permitted cooling-off periods) then they will not be eligible for the free and / or discounted months as specified in these offers.
- These promotional offers cannot be exchanged for cash or some other rebate.
- Facilities and group classes may differ from Club to Club.
- Should a member elect to “freeze” (i.e., suspend) their membership contract while this promotional campaign is running (i.e., from 1 July 2024), the free and / or discounted months will cease and / or will not be carried over.
Join Virgin Active on an U14 or Club-V (0-7 years) / Club-V Max (0-13 years) membership type between 1 and 31 July 2024 (both dates included) and pay no membership fees for July 2024:
- If you join on an U14 membership type or Club-V / Club-V Max membership between 1 and 31 July 2024 (both dates inclusive) then you will not be required to pay any upfront fees (i.e., no joining fees, no access card / device fees, and no pro rata membership fees) for July 2024.
- This offer is available to all corporate memberships, including Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners.
- Any child signed up in the period (1-31 July 2024) qualifies for a free swim trial. The free Swim Assessment is strictly only at participating Clubs and must be taken up within a month of joining.
JULY CAMPAIGN #6: Virgin Active parents “bring your child to Club-V for 2 free visits”
- Between 1 – 31 July 2024 (both dates inclusive), Virgin Active invites parents and / or legal guardians to bring their child/children to Club-V or Club-V Max for two free visits.
- Parents and /or guardians do not have to be a Virgin Active member.
- Children must be between the ages of 6 weeks to 13 years.
If the parent or legal guardian is not a current Virgin Active member, then
- Parents or legal guardians arriving at the Club will be required to complete a guest register process for themselves and their child/ren for each visit at the Club.
- Parents must bring their original identity document or driver’s license, plus proof that they are the biological parent or legal guardian of every child with them for each visit at the Club.
- Once inside the club, parents or legal guardians may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and will be required to sign them in there.
- Parents or legal guardians will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon entering the club, as well as the guest register for themselves.
If the parent is a current Virgin Active member, then:
- Parents or legal guardians who are current Virgin Active members, arriving at the Club, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
- Parents must provide proof that they are the biological parent or legal guardian of every child with them for each visit at the Club.
- Once inside the club, parents or legal guardians may bring their child/ren to the Club-V facility and will be required to sign them in there.
JULY CAMPAIGN #8: Adult, Club-V and U14 offer – Swim Assessment
Join Virgin Active in July 2024 and qualify for a free Swim Assessment:
- If you join Virgin Active on any membership during the month of July 2024, then you will qualify for a free Swim Assessment conducted by the resident Swim Coach to assess your level of swimming competency and advise on coaching required to improve your swimming level.
- This offer is available to all new adult members as well as children joining on U14 and Club-V/Club-V Max membership products, only at certain participating Clubs.
- The resident Swim Coach will contact all new joiners and set up a time for the complimentary appointment and this must be taken up within a month of joining Virgin Active.
- You will be required to swim (i.e., get into the swimming pool) during this session and the entire session will last around 20 to 30 minutes. This Swim Assessment session can be for the child or the adult member.
