New Joiner Promotions: July 2023, Terms and Conditions

• New joiners taking up a Club one or two year membership type (hereinafter referred to as “members”), receive a limited edition Virgin Active gym bag, while stocks last.

  • These offers are excluded from membership conversions of any kind if a member’s prior membership is still within the commitment period of the prior contract.
  • Members who have had a prior membership at Virgin Active will need to have a clean membership history that was/is in good standing (i.e. no previous or current arrears and/or poor disciplinary record), in order to qualify for these offers.
  • If the member has cancelled their Virgin Active membership (for example, but not necessarily limited to, cancellation within the legally permitted cooling-off periods) then they will not be eligible for these offers.
  • These promotional offers cannot be exchanged for cash or some other rebate.
  • Facilities and group classes may differ from Club to Club.
  • Should a member elect to “freeze” (i.e. suspend) their membership contract while this promotional campaign is running, these offers will not apply.

• New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up an adult 1 or 2 year membership at Virgin Active George or Virgin Active Northgate from 1 to 31 July 2023 (both dates included) will receive 2 months on us, i.e. August and September 2023.
• Pay the applicable joining / activation fee due.
• No July 2023 pro-rata membership fees are payable. (no pro-rata fee is due)
• No access card / device fees are payable for joiners in July.
• Download the new Virgin Active APP in order to enjoy the Virgin Active Rewards benefits.
• The members’ first debit order will be for fees in respect of October 2023.
• Virgin Active will not debit qualifying members in respect of membership fees for August and September 2023.
• If the member’s chosen debit order date is not the 1st of the month, then the debit order for the membership fees for October 2023 will run on the specified date in September 2023 as per the membership agreement.
• Members paying cash upfront, not via debit order, will pay for 12 months upfront and receive the remainder of July 2023 on us. They will also receive an additional 2 months of membership for free, added to the end of their contract period, provided they meet the qualifying criteria.
• The relevant membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership system by no later than 31 July 2023.

KAUAI /NU VIRGIN ACTIVE: Free Small Smoothie or Small Hot Drink Offer 

Qualifying new adult joiners, taking up a 1- or 2-year membership at Virgin Active South Africa Clubs, excluding members joining at Virgin Active George and Clubs in Namibia and Botswana, in the month of July 2023 will receive a FREE small smoothie or a small hot drink. This will be transferred to the member in the form of a wiCode.

The small smoothie/ small hot drink can be redeemed at any Kauai/ NU store by scanning the QR code or asking a cashier to manually enter the QR code.

The below Kauai / Nu offer is available to qualifying new adult members joining Virgin Active South Africa between 1- 31 July 2023 (Includes 14 to 17 year olds joining on the Youth product).

The member will be sent the wiCode to their own unique cell phone number provided on the membership agreement upon joining Virgin Active.

The smoothie/ hot drink voucher will be valid for 7 consecutive days from date of their membership being authorized on the Virgin Active membership system.

Members can redeem one small (350ml) Smoothie (drinks are listed below) or hot drink (drinks are listed below) at Kauai or NU.

This offer excludes any Protein Smoothies, Superfood Smoothies or Raw Juices at Kauai.

This offer excludes any Functional Blends, Power Juices & Green Juices at NU. Kids Smoothies (250ml) or Large (500ml) are not included in this offer.

If the member wishes to add extra protein or collagen to their drink, this will be for the members own cost, i.e. any smoothie add on’s will be charged for at the normal menu price.

Members joining in Namibia and Botswana will not receive this offer, refer to specific offer for these territories for July 2023 and these vouchers cannot be redeemed in Namibia or Botswana Kauai outlets or any other Kauai stores internationally.

To redeem this offer, simply follow the next steps:

• Look out for the wiCode code voucher which will be sent to your cell phone device via SMS
• To redeem your wiCode in store, place your small Smoothie or small hot drink order at the till, open the SMS and scan the wiCode in order for the voucher to redeem on the transaction.
• This wiCode cannot be redeemed through any Third Party delivery (Uber eats, Mr. D Foods, Bolt).
• These vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or used against any other Smoothie or Kauai or Nu special offer.

 

Members can redeem their free small Smoothie or small hot drink at any Kauai or Nu store in South Africa (inside and outside Virgin Active), as well as the Kauai Food Truck. Stores with a limited menu offering include: All Kauai Checkers stores, Kauai Food Truck and selected Kauai Virgin Active gym stores. The Kauai menu offering might differ from store to store, depending on the store menu format.

If a Kauai/ NU reward is redeemed at any Kauai/ NU store and a customer decides to cancel the order after the transaction has gone through, the QR code will be lost and no longer be available to redeem again.

Kauai/ NU cannot be held liable for the non-redemption of any rewards voucher due to a customer missing the expiry date as indicated on the reward voucher or to a Kauai/ NU instore POS system being down due to loadshedding or any other internet connectivity issues.

Any additions and substitutions are charged as per the normal menu price.

• Enjoy 2 free visits to Club-V or Club-V Max, before choosing to sign up with us
• New joiners (hereinafter referred to as “members”) taking up a Club-V or Club-V Max membership type pay no upfront fees i.e. no joining fee, no access card / device fee and no pro rata membership fee for July 2023. 
• Children signed up in this period (1 – 31 July 2023), on a Club-V or Club-V Max membership, qualify for a limited edition, free kids backpack, while stocks last.

Terms and Conditions: Virgin Active South Africa parents “bring your child to Club-V or Club-V Max for 2 free visits”

• Between 1 – 31 July 2023 (both dates inclusive), Virgin Active invites parents, to bring their child/children to Club-V or Club-V Max for 2 free visits.
• This includes 2 free visits for the accompanying parent, if they are not a Virgin Active member.

 

If the parent is not a current Virgin Active South Africa member:

First visit:

• Parents who are not current Virgin Active South Africa members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a guest register process for themselves and their child/ren.
• Parents must bring their ID document with them.
• Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V/Club-V Max facility and sign them in there.

Second visit:

• Parents who are not Virgin Active members, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, can enter the club for the 2nd time and final time using their ID.
• Parents will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon entering the club, as well as the guest register for themselves.
• Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V/Club-V Max facility and sign them in.

 

If the parent is a current Virgin Active South Africa member:

First visit:

• Parents who are current Virgin Active members, arriving at the club, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.
• Once inside the club, parents may bring their child/ren to the Club-V/Club-V Max facility and sign them in.

Second visit:

• Parents who are Virgin Active members, bringing their child/ren for their second visit, will be required to complete a disclaimer for their child/ren upon club entry.

Adult, Club-V/Club-V Max and U14 offer – Swim Assessment

Join Virgin Active in July 2023 and qualify for a free Swim Assessment: 

• All members joining at select Virgin Active Health Clubs in July 2023, qualify for a free Swim Assessment conducted by the resident Swim Coach to assess the members level of swimming competency and advise on coaching required to improve the members swimming level. 
• This offer is available to all new Adult members as well as children joining on U14 and Club-V/Club-V Max membership products. 
• There are 128 participating Clubs. 
• The resident Swim Coach will contact all new joiners and set up a time for the complimentary appointment. 
• The member will be required to swim in this session and the entire session will last around 20 to 30 minutes.
