March 2024 Invite a Friend Terms and Conditions

Existing Virgin Active members refer a friend via the Virgin Active APP or on-line or via email between 11 March and 30 April 2024 and receive a free month for each referred friend that joins.

  • Selected Virgin Active members who refer a non-Member friend or family member (a “Referred Friend/Family”) who subsequently joins Virgin Active between 11 March 2024 and 30 April 2024 only (both dates inclusive) will receive one month free on their membership for every Referred Friend/Family subject to below and provided that the follow criteria are met:
    • (1) The referring Member:
      • is an existing adult Member (i.e., not younger than 18 years from 1 March 2024, inclusive) who joined a South African Virgin Active club before 29 February 2024 on a 12- or 24-month membership contract;
      • is not a Collection member;
      • is in good standing and not in arrears of his/her membership payments as of 29 February 2024; and
      • refers a Referred Friend/Family between 11 March 2024 and 30 April 2024 via either the Virgin Active Application, on-line sales or an email link.
    • (2) The Referred Friend/Family:
      • is not younger than 18 years from 1 March 2024, inclusive;
      • concludes an adult Virgin Active membership agreement (i.e., excludes memberships for members younger than 18 years old such as Club V and Youth and Children) in South Africa (Botswana and Namibia Members and Clubs being expressly excluded from this campaign) between 11 March 2024 and 30 April 2024;
      • does not exercise his/her right to cancel the membership contract during the 5 business day cooling-off period from date of signature of the membership agreement; and
      • who elects to pay their membership fees through a monthly debit order, pays the first month of their new membership agreement by way of a successful debit order, alternatively, the Referred Friend/Family who elects to pay their full membership fees for the Commitment Period upfront, pays the full amount due and owing to Virgin Active.”
    • This campaign is not applicable to:
      • (i) short term memberships, 3-month memberships, and complimentary memberships;
      • (ii) Virgin Active staff or tenant memberships;
      • (iii) Members of Botswana and Namibia Clubs;
      • (iv) Vitality Legacy members who joined pre-2010; and
      • (v) Momentum Legacy members who joined pre 2017.
    • Qualifying Members will receive a free month on their membership as follows:
      • For those Members who pay for their membership fees by monthly debit order, Virgin Active will waive payment of their monthly membership fees due and payable in terms of their existing membership agreement for the next month.
      • For those Members who have paid for their membership in full upfront, Virgin Active will provide one addition free month at the end of their commitment period in terms of their existing membership agreement.
    • A qualifying Member can refer a maximum of 6 (six) Referred Friends/Family in total. Therefore, each Member can only qualify for a maximum of 6 (six) free months under this campaign and subject to the above conditions.
    • Only one Member can benefit from a specific Referred Friend/Family. If the same Referred Friend/Family is referred by numerous Members, then the first Member (in time) to refer that Referred Friend/Family will receive the one free month for that Referred Friend/Family.
Should the referring Member elect to freeze his/her membership for the month that Virgin Active waives payment of monthly membership fees or for the additional month (as set out above), such benefit of waiver of fees or additional month membership, as the case may be, shall fall away and cannot under any circumstances be carried over or roll over to the next month. The Member remains liable for the administrative fee for freezing memberships, as per the membership contract.
