      Invite a friend Terms and Conditions.

      Existing Virgin Active members invite a friend via the Virgin Active APP or on-line or via email link and receive 50% off your next month’s membership fees for each invited friend that joins:

      • Existing Virgin Active members who invite a friend (or family member) who joins Virgin Active from 1 May 2024, receive 50% off your next month Virgin Active membership fees.
      • This is an open-ended offer and will continue indefinitely until Virgin Active change or pause or cease this offer at their discretion and without prior notice. Any friends invited before this time will have the free month honoured but will be limited to 6 friends invited friends and therefore 6 months of 50% off fees per annum or 3 months in total.
      • If the member paid cash upfront, this free time will be added to the end of their membership period.
      • The member can invite a friend via the Virgin Active APP, via on-line sales or via an email link.
      • The maximum limit to the number of friends that the existing member can invite in this campaign is six and the rewards are only given when the invited friend(s) join up on a 1 or 2 year adult membership type (no under 18s, including no 14 to 17 year olds)
      • The existing members Virgin Active account must be in good standing in order to qualify for the 50% reduction in fees.
      • The discounted fees will be given to the existing member from June 2024 on and will be dependent on the timing of when the new member joins up. i.e. their June debit order and beyond will be waivered for up to 3 months in the case of an existing member paying by debit order. In the case of an existing member who paid cash upfront, they will receive the free time once their initial membership period is complete.
      • If a member invites 2 friends that join in the same month for example, they will get their next debit order at 100% discount, combining the 50% off for each friend that joins to a maximum of 3 months of membership fees waivered in a calendar year.
      • Existing members are defined as members who have an active adult 1- or 2-year paying membership approved and showing on the Virgin Active member base.
      • The invited friend must join up on a 1- or 2-year Virgin Active adult membership, i.e. no U18s (including no Youth 14-17 membership) and no Club-V joiners will count towards the free month for the existing member.
      • Similarly, Youth 14-17 year old members will not benefit from the invite a friend campaign.
      Exclusions: This offer is not applicable to the following membership types:
        • short term memberships
        • 3-month memberships
        • complimentary memberships
        • Virgin Active staff
        • tenant memberships
        • members who are under the age of 18 years (including 14-17 year olds as well as Club-V joiners)
        • Members in Botswana and Namibia
        • Vitality Legacy members who joined pre-2010
        • Momentum Legacy members who joined pre-2017
        • Collection Club members
      • This offer will only apply if the existing member’s Virgin Active account is in good standing and not in arrears at the time of the awarding the free month(s).
      • This campaign is only applicable to existing members who are members in South Africa and not applicable to members in Namibia and Botswana.
      • The invited friend can join up at a Collection Club in order for the existing member to qualify but Collection members will not benefit from inviting a friend.
      • The new member’s contract must not be subsequently cancelled or terminated within the residual cooling-off period in order for the invited friend to qualify for the discounted fees.
      • This promotional offer cannot be exchanged for cash or some other rebate.
      • Only one member can benefit from an invited friend joining, if the same friend is invited by numerous members, then the first member to refer them will receive the discount in their membership fees.
      • Once a new member has joined, no subsequent claims of an invitation / referral for this member will be honoured.
      • The discounted fees as a result of this campaign will be included in the initial membership period commitment and will not push out or extend the initial commitment period.
      • Standard freezing and cancellation fees and process apply. For members freezing their membership during their free months earned from inviting friends, these free months will all away in this instance.
