Existing member usage campaign T&Cs

  • Existing adult members, loaded onto the Virgin Active membership base with active memberships as at 31 October 2021, who train at least once between 1 November to 10 December 2021 (both dates inclusive), will be automatically entered into a lucky draw and stand in line to win fantastic prizes.
  • For each visit to Virgin Active, on a separate day during this promotional period, the member will receive one entry into the lucky draw for prizes.
  • In addition, select members who have an arrears balance as at 31 October 2021, will have a 50% reduction in this at 11 December if they have trained at least 3 times on separate days during this promotion period.
  • This promotion includes members in Namibia and in Botswana.
  • This promotion includes Collection Club members.
  • The membership needs to be active and authorized on Virgin Active’s membership loading system between 31 October and 10 December 2021 in order to qualify.
  • This offer is also available to members who have joined via one of Virgin Active’s wellness and/or rewards partners.
  • Select Club and Off-Peak members also can also enjoy a 10% discount on Premier membership status for 6 months if they upgrade their membership via the contact centre before the end of this campaign. If one of these upgrading members wins one of the 100 x Premier upgrades for a year, this prize will supersede the Premier 10% discount which will not be carried forward into 2023.
  • The prizes up for grabs are as follows:
      • 1 lucky member will win a 2 night stay for 2 at Ulusaba Safari Lodge worth R50 000
      • 500 members will win a Virgin Active designer kit bag
      • 100 members will win a Personal Trainer pack consisting of a consultation session and 2 sessions on the gym floor
      • 100 members will win a free upgrade to Premier membership status for 6 months starting from January 2022 to end of June 2022.
  • The prize winners will be chosen by Virgin Active at their discretion and winners will be announced in mid-December 2021 when they will be contacted by their Club General Manager.
  • The winners will be drawn by random selection.
  • Only one visit per day will be counted.
  • The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The winners will be contacted by email after the draw. Three attempts will be undertaken to contact the winners. All attempts to contact the winner will be made by email or phone and any other means of contact we have available to us. If there is no response from the winner within 3 days of the initial email / phone call, we will be compelled to pick a new winner. The subsequent winner will then fall into the same above criteria for contact.
  • No prize will be awarded to any person to whom such prize may not be legally awarded including, but not limited to minors under the age of 18 years.
  • Winning members Virgin Active membership account must not be in arrears, cancelled or frozen. Members who have settled their 50% arrears during this campaign, will have the remaining 50% arrears written off by Virgin Active and will be entered into the draw for prizes.
  • The Competition may be terminated or extended at any time by the organisers.  In the event of such termination, all participants agree to waive (give up) any rights they may in terms of this Competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse of any kind against the organisers, their participating partners or their promotional agents, unless the circumstances leading to such termination were within the Organiser’s reasonable control.
  • To enter the Competition, you must be 18 years old or older and live in South Africa (being a resident or a citizen).  Directors and/or Members and/or Agents and/or Promoters and/or Consultants to Promoters and/or Employees and/or Contractors and/or Family members of Virgin Active South Africa and any of the aforementioned or their participating partners are not eligible to enter, win or claim the prizes.
  • Entrants indemnify the organisers and their respective affiliates for any loss or damage that it or its respective affiliates may suffer because of the Entrant’s breach of these terms and conditions.  Consequently, the Entrants agree to compensate the organisers or their respective affiliates for any loss or damage it suffered (including consequential damages and/or legal expenses incurred) because of the Entrant’s breach of these terms and conditions.  The Entrants also agree to hold the organisers or their respective affiliates harmless for any claim made against it or their respective affiliates by third parties due to the Entrant’s breach of these terms and conditions.
  •  Prizes may not be awarded if entry procedures or these terms and conditions have not been adhered to or if the organisers detect and/or suspects any irregularities or fraudulent practices.
  •  All participants’ indemnify the organisers and any other company associated with the competition and its advertising agencies against any and all claims howsoever from their participation in this competition, unless the circumstances leading to such claim were within the organisers or its advertising agent’s reasonable control.
  •  All participants further indemnify the organisers from any claim should this Competition be called off or extended for any reason whatsoever, unless the cancellation of the Competition has regard to any circumstances within the organisers, its participating partners or its promotional agents’ reasonable control. Consequently, all participants agree to waive any rights they may have in terms of this Competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse against the organisers or any of its promotional agents.
  • The organisers shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights they may have accrued in terms of this Competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse against the organisers, its participatory partners or its promotional agents.
  • At the end of the competition all of the organisers’ obligations with regard to the competition, as well as with regard to the prizes, shall cease.
  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.


Win a 2-night stay for 2 sharing at Ulusaba Safari Lodge:

One member and their partner will win a 2-night stay at an Elephant room type at Ulusaba Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sands Reserve. This prize includes all meals and drinks; twice-daily game drives; a daily walking safari (weather dependent), daily mini bar refreshes and much more. Ulusaba’s Safari Lodge fits snugly into the bush located beneath a canopy of ancient trees on the edge of a dry riverbed. With animals regularly strolling past on their way to the nearby watering hotel, The Lodge’s Elephant Rooms make for excellent up-close and personal game viewing.

Exclusions from this promotional campaign:

  • With the sole exception of the abovementioned upgrade to Collection Club status, this offer does not include: (i) intergrades (i.e. upgrades, downgrades and/or interclub transfers), or (ii) any changes occurring within the same/existing membership contract.
  • This offer is not applicable to members joining via a short term, complimentary, Virgin Active staff or tenant membership.
  • All Junior Memberships (e.g. Under 18 and Club V / Club V Max membership products) will not qualify for this campaign.
  • This offer is excluded from membership conversions of any kind if a member’s prior membership is still within the commitment period of the prior contract.
  • Multiply legacy members are excluded from this campaign.
  • If the member has cancelled their Virgin Active membership (for example, but not necessarily limited to, cancellation within the legally permitted cooling-off periods) then they will not be eligible for the arrears write off or to be entered into the lucky draw for prizes.
  • This promotional offer cannot be exchanged for cash or some other rebate.
  • Facilities and group classes may differ from Club to Club.
  • Should a member elect to “freeze” (i.e. suspend) their membership contract while this promotional campaign is running, the member will not qualify.
